Vending Machine Snacks are the Stars of New Mobile Game

March 18th, 2013 | Posted by Ajax Union in Combo vending machines - (Comments Off on Vending Machine Snacks are the Stars of New Mobile Game)

eVendingThe world of vending machines has found itself all over mainstream media lately. No matter where you are, you have likely seen vending machines on television, in the movies, and, in video games? That’s right–Vending’s latest leap into everyday media comes in the form of a fun little mobile game starring a vending machine and its snacks.

According to Vending Times, “Vend Drama” is an all new app for Apple devices that challenges players to help certain snacks “escape” a vending machine, without stopping up the machine in the process. This is a fun poke at the all-too familiar scenario of snacks getting stuck in your favorite combo vending machine, and actually makes for an interesting take on the puzzle game genre. Players must tilt their smartphone or tablet to successfully guide the snacks out of the machine, as moving too fast or too slow will result in treats getting left behind.

“Gamers will truly enjoy playing Vend Drama. In fact, they may never look at a vending machine the same way again!” said developer Con Roditis on the game, which can be downloaded for free on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. “Vend Drama” certainly looks like a ton of fun, and could very well change the way you approach your local combo drink and snack machine!

Fresh Coffee Around the Clock

March 11th, 2013 | Posted by Ajax Union in Combo vending machines - (Comments Off on Fresh Coffee Around the Clock)

eVendingCoffee and college go together like milk and sugar, but do students always have access to their favorite caffeinated beverage? While most college campuses feature a Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or some kind of coffee cafe, these establishments typically close their doors in the evening, leaving students hunting for sodas in their hallway combo vending machines. However, a new machine at Hampshire College in Massachusetts is giving college-goers a brand new way to grab a cup of joe.

According to Fresh Healthy Vending, the all new “Cafe” machine will keep hardworking students caffeinated all through the wee hours of the night. While many drink vending machines have pre-packaged frapuccinos, the Cafe machine will fresh brew a cup of coffee for every order, giving Hampshire attendees 24-7 access to that signature coffee shop taste. This machine will likely see heavy use all throughout the school year, especially in May when finals week draws near.

Vending machines and universities have always had a strong relationship, and machines are evolving to meet the needs of students better than ever before. Whether you employ the use of a forward thinking coffee machine or a classic combo vending machine, one thing is for sure: A vending-friendly campus is a happy one!

Vending Machines Play Key Role in “Parenthood” Episode

January 28th, 2013 | Posted by Ajax Union in Snack vending machines - (Comments Off on Vending Machines Play Key Role in “Parenthood” Episode)

eVendingHere at the eVending blog, we spend each week discussing new and exciting news stories in the vending industry, from new machines to advanced technology. However, it is not very often that a vending machine is at the center of a popular TV show like it was this week.

According to the Vending Times, hit NBC comedy “Parenthood” kicked off its fourth season focusing on a young boy’s grief in the wake of snack vending machines being removed from his school’s campus. The boy’s mother then sets out to find a way to get the machines back in the school. The episode’s conclusion was a timely and realistic one: The school eventually brings the vending machines back into their facilities, albeit with much healthier snacking options.

“We applaud the creators and writers of Parenthood and NBC-TV for featuring a real-life view of vending,” NAMA VP Roni Moore told the Vending Times.

We find it very inspiring to not only have our industry at the forefront of a television episode, but also to see the growing trend toward healthy vending find its way into the mainstream. If you are looking to provide this same level of calorie-conscious vending at your establishment, our vending machines for sale are the perfect way to start!

Vending in the News: Students Engage in Healthy Vending Activities

January 7th, 2013 | Posted by Ajax Union in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Students Engage in Healthy Vending Activities)

eVendingWhether you have been keeping up with recent vending news or have simply taken a look at the machines around you, one thing is clear: healthy vending is here to stay. There are plenty of low-calorie snacks that make a suitable replacement to the typical greasy treats found in most snack vending machines, and machine owners and operators are starting to make big changes. In Asheville, North Carolina, it is not just vending machine companies making big changes: seventh grade students have been putting their algebra studies to work by coming up with ways to make the vending experience both satisfying and calorie conscious.

Evergreen Community Charter School has been named a Green Ribbon school for its commitment to healthy and environmentally-friendly products, and the school has been using its own students to figure out the healthy vending guidelines for new machines. Students were tasked with figuring out things such as pricing, environmental impact, and types of snacks that would fit into a combo vending machine. The school has already met Green Ribbon guidelines for its hot lunches, and is well on its way towards implementing them into vending machines. If you are looking to start a healthy, eco-friendly vending movement of your own, our vending machines for sale make a great place to start!

Vending in the News: Tampa Bay Vending Machines To Dispense Art

December 27th, 2012 | Posted by Ajax Union in Combo vending machines - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Tampa Bay Vending Machines To Dispense Art)

eVendingIf you are as enthusiastic about the vending industry as we are here at eVending, you have likely read up on dozens of new vending innovations ranging from caviar combo vending machines to novelty devices that dish out used books. Well, much like the industry itself, the creativity of the vending world is far from its limit, as a recent 83 Degrees article reveals that new machines in Tampa, Florida will be selling good old fashioned art to its customers.

Modern vending machines have essentially condensed the convenience of a full-on retail store into a small device, so it is only natural that an art retailer can now enjoy the same transformation. After winning Awesome Tampa Bay’s microgrants program, Daniel Markovich is now transforming outdated sticker vending machines into mini stores for all types of visual art. Set to include prints, sticker art, and photographs, these innovative machines will allow Tampa artists to reach their audience in an all-new way.

“With so many talented people very often overlooked, I sought out to find a way to help distribute their work that is fun, affordable and engaging,” said Markovich.

We love hearing about new creations such as Markovich’s brainchild, and we look forward to seeing how this unique art dispenser pans out. If you are inspired by his vision and want to become part of the vending industry at a basic snack and drink level, browse our selection of vending machines for sale today!

Vending in the News: CAT Rack Makes Bulk Vending Easy

December 18th, 2012 | Posted by Ajax Union in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: CAT Rack Makes Bulk Vending Easy)

eVendingWe are huge fans of vending innovations here at eVending, and a recent story on the Vending Times could not help but catch our attention. The new “CAT rack” bulk operator makes using small candy and gumball vending machines easier than ever, while no longer limiting their customer base to those who have a few loose quarters around.

Short for Currency Activated Technology, the CAT rack acts as a central hub for a series of small snack vending machines. Customers can insert a dollar bill into the rack, after which they can freely choose which vending machine they would like to receive a treat from. Novelty vending machines such as the ones found in movie theaters and supermarkets typically force consumers to find somewhere to make change, but the CAT rack finally makes the dollar useable with a quarter machine. The device is currently being tested in upper Manhattan, New York.

While this device is only being tested on mini vending machines, the potential of the CAT rack is endless. The CAT’s creator would like the product to evolve to the point of cashless transactions and become compatible with new point of sale methods. Could this device ever tie together a network of our vending machines for sale? We shall wait and see!

Vending in the News: Tecom’s Reverse Vending Machine

December 10th, 2012 | Posted by Ajax Union in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Tecom’s Reverse Vending Machine)

eVendingWhen you hear the term “reverse vending machine,” you might imagine a traditional snack machine turned upside down, or perhaps a bag of chips walking up to a machine to purchase humans. Well, reverse vending machines do exist, but they are not as out there as they might sound.

Through a unique partnership, Dubai’s Tecom Business Parks just launched the ReVa reverse vending machine. A collaboration between Enpark, Averda, and Air Miles, the machine allows customers to exchange plastic bottles and aluminum cans for Air Miles points, which yeild users a variety of shopping rewards. Customers receive two Air Miles per unit recycled at any of the 15 ReVa machines in the Tecom parks.

“By making recycling more accessible, the ReVa reverse vending machine is also working to change the habits of those working in and living near Tecom free zones,” said Enpark director Saad Bin Ghubash in a recent Trade Arabia article. Not only does the ReVa offer excellent rewards to users, but it encourages a habit of recycling that benefits the entire world in the end.

The ReVa machine is just one of the many examples of how much the vending industry has achieved. Are you looking for an affordable way to become a part of this exciting business? Our vending machines for sale are a great way to get started!
