Vending in the News: T-Shirts from a Billboard Vending Machine?

January 21st, 2013 | Posted by DT in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: T-Shirts from a Billboard Vending Machine?)

eVendingHere at eVending, we love showcasing the latest innovations in the vending world, from the futuristic to the straight-up wacky. Fortunately for our industry, the trend of cool new creations has yet to slow down, as evidenced by this report from Fast Company. Clothing company Allen Solly has come up with a creative way to promote its new collection by dispensing sample shirts through a billboard.

Yes, you read that correctly. Allen Solly has employed the use of a hybrid billboard/vending machine that gives out free shirts in exchange for a simple Tweet. When customers tweeted using the hashtag #RainingSolly, the shirts would move closer and closer to the edge of the billboard, eventually falling out for any lucky fans waiting for a freebie. By utilizing advanced technology to sync Twitter with the billboard, the company was able to gather an enthusiastic crowd of excited potential customers, as evidenced by the video below. Nothing builds brand loyalty by some free stuff given out in a really cool way, and we are sure that people will remember Allen Solly for this unique promotion.

We are consistently amazed and inspired by the various ways that companies use vending products to expand the reach of their business. And while the billboard machine is cool, increasing your income can be just as simple as putting one of our traditional vending machines for sale in your establishment. If you are looking for loyal customers and solid profit, browse our vending products today!

Vending in the News: Canada Creates Caffiene Limits

January 14th, 2013 | Posted by DT in Combo vending machines - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Canada Creates Caffiene Limits)

Red BullWhether you have been following the eVending blog or have been keeping up with current vending trends, it is clear that healthy vending is here to stay. Different areas are creating regulations on certain snacks and beverages in combo vending machines, and Canada has been the latest to put a lid on overly sugary drinks.

According to the Vending Times, Canada’s health department has created new rules regarding the caffeine content of energy drinks. All drinks can only have a maximum of 180 mg. of caffeine, which is the average amount found in an 8 oz. cup of coffee. These regulations require that all energy drinks clearly list the caffeine and nutritional contents right on the package, as well as a warning that energy drinks should not be consumed by children, pregnant women, and those drinking alcohol. These changes should not affect major energy drink distributors such as Red Bull, and are likely targeted towards new energy drink brands that deliver excessive amounts of caffiene. Energy drinks have been associated with several deaths and heart problems over the past ten years, and Canada’s new regulations aim to minimize these complications.

Whether your state mandates it or not, it is never a bad idea to monitor the caffeine contents of your combo vending machines. Keeping your clients refreshed should be a priority, but helping them stay healthy should be an even bigger one.

Vending in the News: Tampa Bay Vending Machines To Dispense Art

December 27th, 2012 | Posted by DT in Combo vending machines - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Tampa Bay Vending Machines To Dispense Art)

eVendingIf you are as enthusiastic about the vending industry as we are here at eVending, you have likely read up on dozens of new vending innovations ranging from caviar combo vending machines to novelty devices that dish out used books. Well, much like the industry itself, the creativity of the vending world is far from its limit, as a recent 83 Degrees article reveals that new machines in Tampa, Florida will be selling good old fashioned art to its customers.

Modern vending machines have essentially condensed the convenience of a full-on retail store into a small device, so it is only natural that an art retailer can now enjoy the same transformation. After winning Awesome Tampa Bay’s microgrants program, Daniel Markovich is now transforming outdated sticker vending machines into mini stores for all types of visual art. Set to include prints, sticker art, and photographs, these innovative machines will allow Tampa artists to reach their audience in an all-new way.

“With so many talented people very often overlooked, I sought out to find a way to help distribute their work that is fun, affordable and engaging,” said Markovich.

We love hearing about new creations such as Markovich’s brainchild, and we look forward to seeing how this unique art dispenser pans out. If you are inspired by his vision and want to become part of the vending industry at a basic snack and drink level, browse our selection of vending machines for sale today!

Vending in the News: Tecom’s Reverse Vending Machine

December 10th, 2012 | Posted by DT in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Tecom’s Reverse Vending Machine)

eVendingWhen you hear the term “reverse vending machine,” you might imagine a traditional snack machine turned upside down, or perhaps a bag of chips walking up to a machine to purchase humans. Well, reverse vending machines do exist, but they are not as out there as they might sound.

Through a unique partnership, Dubai’s Tecom Business Parks just launched the ReVa reverse vending machine. A collaboration between Enpark, Averda, and Air Miles, the machine allows customers to exchange plastic bottles and aluminum cans for Air Miles points, which yeild users a variety of shopping rewards. Customers receive two Air Miles per unit recycled at any of the 15 ReVa machines in the Tecom parks.

“By making recycling more accessible, the ReVa reverse vending machine is also working to change the habits of those working in and living near Tecom free zones,” said Enpark director Saad Bin Ghubash in a recent Trade Arabia article. Not only does the ReVa offer excellent rewards to users, but it encourages a habit of recycling that benefits the entire world in the end.

The ReVa machine is just one of the many examples of how much the vending industry has achieved. Are you looking for an affordable way to become a part of this exciting business? Our vending machines for sale are a great way to get started!

Vending in the News: Caviar from a Vending Machine?

December 3rd, 2012 | Posted by DT in Vending machine business - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: Caviar from a Vending Machine?)

eVendingDo not adjust your monitor. You read that headline correctly. While modern day vending machines have typically been evolving to serve more and more everyday goods, Beverly Hills Caviar believes that those with expensive, exquisite tastes should have a means to satisfy their cravings all throughout the day. The first ever caviar vending machines have been placed in various malls in the Los Angeles area, finally allowing the appetizer of the wealthy to be purchased from a snack vending machine.

According to the LA Times,  these unique gourmet vending machines dispense fish eggs, truffles, escargot, oils, salts, and more. The machines also provide special utensils meant to preserve caviar’s unique taste. For those with a sudden late-night craving for expensive food, the caviar machine at the Burbank Town Center stays open until 2 AM. Given the usual high price of caviar, these machines are not likely to draw in the average mall-goer. Still, like the other modern vending machines we have covered, these caviar dispensers are a true testament to the industry’s ability to grow and reach all types of customers.

While you may not be serving caviar to your customer base any time soon, it is still a great time to become a part of the vending machine business. Whether you want a modern combo drink and snack machine or a simplified table top vending machine, the products available here at eVending make it easier than ever to earn some extra profit!

Vending in the News: IKEA Shows Off New Machines

November 27th, 2012 | Posted by DT in Vending machines for sale - (Comments Off on Vending in the News: IKEA Shows Off New Machines)

eVendingAs we mentioned last week, the vending industry is making some truly great strides when it comes to creating the machines of the future. More and more everyday products that you would not expect are winding up in vending machines all over the world, redefining the very concept of the classic combo drink and snack machine. Swedish furniture giants IKEA are one of the latest companies to get in on the trend, expanding their reach to a whole new audience.

We know what you may be thinking, and no, IKEA has not found a way to cram couches and bookcases into a metal machine. Instead, they have come up with a very clever way to market the upcoming launch of their Winnipeg store in Canada. The furniture company has placed several big yellow vending machines selling snacks and IKEA gift cards in various hotspots around the city. The bottom of each machine reads “Opening November 28th” to promote the new store. This is some truly fantastic marketing that vending machine companies should take note of, though we would not be surprised if these machines will actually dispense said furniture sometime in the future.

Feeling inspired by this? Looking to expand the reach of your business or simply earn some guaranteed pocket change? We have some excellent vending machines for sale to get you started!

Tulane University Hosts Event in Celebration of Vending Industry

November 19th, 2012 | Posted by DT in Vending machine business - (Comments Off on Tulane University Hosts Event in Celebration of Vending Industry)

eVendingWhether you have been following our blog or have simply taken a look at the vending machines around you lately, it is clear the vending industry is evolving at a rapid pace. In celebration of the growth of the vending business, Tulane University recently hosted a “Gratitude Event” that allowed consumers to enjoy free refreshments and test out some of the industry’s new technology.

Gratitude events are generally meant to be a “thank you” to consumers, which in this case were vending machine customers aged 18-29 who have been proven to prefer drink and snack vending machines over convenience stores. The National Automatic Merchandising Association, or NAMA, was on hand to educate the public about the current vending options at their disposal. Top brands such as Keurig, Coca-Cola, and Red Bull were all present to provide hands-on demonstrations of their latest vending products. Some of the all-new technology on display included advanced touchscreen capability, as well as the ability to make a purchase with the simple swipe of a mobile phone.

This recent gratitude event is just one of the many testaments to the ever-expanding vending machine business. Looking to get in on the excitement? Our affordable combo vending machines are an excellent place to start!
